Fine Arts Show 2007 The winners of the annual Stonewall Jackson Jubilee Fine Arts show were announced on Thurs., Aug. 30 at a reception honoring the winners. Robert Musick of Morgantown won Best of Show for “Blackwater Falls.” Laurie Goldstein-Warren of Buckhannon won the WV Heritage Award for her work, “Appalachian Bluegrass.” Clarksburg’s Carolyn Martin Light won the WV Watercolor Award for her painting “Red House on Monhegan.” First Place winners in the Adult Division were: Lorna Vincent Venter, of Grafton – “Maxine Virginia”; Michele Sims, of Walkersville – “The Four Sisters of Leatherbark Farm”; Joyce Greenlief, of Burnsville – “Morning on Rt. 33”; M. Odle, of Weston - “Carol at the Folies”; Michele Simms, of Walkersville – “Another Time, Spriggs House”; Ann L. Linger, of Weston – “Lake at Skin Creek”. Second Place winners included: Robert Musick – “No Vacancy”; J. Michael Ledden, of Parsons – “The Country Store” and “Presby Chruch – Glady”; Donna L. Motto, of Camden – “The Home Place”; Katherine Crim, of Clarksburg – “The ‘Mane’ Event”; Aimee Shull, of Elkview – “Splendor in the Grass.” Third Place winners were: Joyce Greenlief – “Scene from Alice Road”; Lorna Vincent Venter – “You’re Safe Now”; Linda J.C. Turner, of Jane Lew – “Sant Andrea Passage Ways” and “Monday by the Sea of Ionia”; Diana Crim – Caught in the Knots”; Ream White, of Jane Lew – “Helicopter Ride.” Student First Place winners were: Casey Maxwell, of Salem – Blanket of Protection” and “the Smell of Sunshine.” Second Place winners in the student division were: Carlie Smith, of Salem – “Over Extended”; Justin Elder, of Clarksburg – “Behind Locked Doors”. Third Place winners were: Angela Pratt, of Fairmont – “#2 Pencils”; and Justin Elder – “As the Seasons Pass.”
